For those who look for a long and extensive walk are in good hands in the Rabensteiner forest with its 900 hectares. The Rabenstein mountain range borders the natural area of the Ore Mountains Basin from the hills of Central Saxony and its local mountain, the Totenstein, is the highest mountain in the surrounding area with approx. 479 metres above sea level.
The mountain range is part of the Saxon Granulite Mountains, whose vegetation consists of 50% forest.
The 6.5 hectare Oberrabenstein reservoir is also located right next to the Rabensteiner forest and offers a lot of fun in the water, especially in summer time. The bathing season at the Oberrabenstein reservoir begins in May and ends in September. Please note that a small entrance fee is payable.
