Arctic Alpine Garden

Chemnitz Zoo

Castle pond Park

The castle pond was built in 1493 by the monks of the monastery as a fish pond. The pond is irrigated by the Pleißenbach, which flows around the pond. After the pond was finally bought by the city of Chemnitz, the Zipper fountain was built on its island and after the Second World War a new concert pavilion was built. In summer, you can rent rowing boats and paddleboats at the pond and explore the pond from the water.

Zeigis Forest

The forest is close to the city centre and offers an excellent network of hiking trails. All paths are paved and equipped with stairs.
